You know you are in London Fashion Week when the closing fashion show is held in the depths of an abandoned train tunnel. London is the fashion capital with a rich history of punk rock culture and more of an underground style than the rest of the fashion capitals, and this fashion week we were taken underground, literally. Designer Ingrid Kraftchenko closed Saturday nights official London Fashion Week Schedule with a dark and creative twist on ecofuturism, with a political and avant-garde collection. It was dark from the moment guests were walking down the abandoned tunnel lit with just red lights on a Saturday night sky.

It was a show full of suspense, from start to end. As guests are seated the red lights went off and it was truly pitch black before a striking light lit up the runway and models emblazoned in red and black took the runway in a ritualistic catwalk as a tribute to the dystopian and utilitarian. The undeniable talent of Ingrid Kraftchenko came together through structure and statement. The runway saw a diverse group of models dressed in leather, sheer fabrics, and an array of intricate textiles and crochet. Ingrid Kraftchenko’s androgynous designs draw inspiration from anger, euphoria, and all that encompasses femininity for a spectacle of the beyond.
